Does developing and leading an ESG strategy across a large group appeal to you? Do you want to be at the forefront of an organisation's sustainability journey, who is committed to playing an active part in addressing the issues of climate change?

Acre has partnered with a group that is focused on delivering high quality services across the UK from regional offices using local workforces. These services range from sustainable energy solutions, smart metering, heating, maintenance, and water supply.

Headquartered in London and with UK-wide operations, sustainability is a big part of their commitment to being a responsible business, across both environmental and social value impact. In this newly created role, you will be the in-house driver of ESG activities and workstreams, driving collaboration and ensuring that the group-wide approach to sustainability is met. You'll also accelerate external engagement and communication of the excellent work underway.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Alongside the board, developing the corporate approach to the Net-Zero agenda, securing buy in from relevant teams and business groups internally. You'll be working closely with these key internal stakeholders, creating communication plans, reporting and verification mechanisms, and metrics for ESG reporting.

  • Advising on how to best build out and grow the ESG team, including both direct and indirect reports. You enjoy engaging others on how to accelerate the agenda and finding the right people to help the group do so.

  • Liaising with procurement, suppliers, and third-party brand partners to ensure their ESG policies are in alignment with those of the group. You drive continuity across every angle possible of the supply chain.

Reporting to the Group Commercial Director, you are a focal point across the group, and you thrive in a multi-faceted business setting, working with several teams, organisations, geographies, and sector offerings.

To excel in this role, you'll also benefit from having the following:

  • A track record of delivering wide-scale ESG strategy. You know how to deliver across topics such as GHG mitigation, science-based targets, net-zero roadmaps, and climate related financial risk.

  • Excellent influencing skills, you know how to win over the trickier stakeholders and bring all audiences along the journey with you.

  • A commercial mindset, able to connect the dots between business performance metrics and ESG priorities.

If you’re excited about the opportunity to lead at group level across several subsidiaries and drive impact at scale, this is for you. This role is newly created, and the team are all excited about the room to develop an ESG programme, so if you are interested in joining at this point and being part of the journey, please apply below.
