Our client, a global Commercial Real Estate and Investment firm, is looking to identify their new Head of Fire Safety HSE operations.

Our client is looking for a highly capable and inspirational individual who can effect positive change, with a focus on fire safety, to meet forthcoming legislative requirements. Ideally, a subject matter expert in fire safety, residential and tall buildings with technical knowledge and effective leadership skills in building safety strategies in line with emerging Building Safety Bill legislation. This is a senior leadership role, and the candidate will be driven to ensure their client leads the way and are constantly abreast of industry best practice.

In this role, you will support and report to the Senior Health & Safety Director. Your expert knowledge and skills will help create the H&S strategy and develop and deliver a robust platform to ensure consistent quality across all mixed-use assets and to promote a positive health, safety, and sustainability culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • To personally contribute to the provision of professional health, safety, and environmental services against the background of businesses UK objectives.

  • Assisting in shaping the organisation's response to the developing building safety regulatory regime, planning management of building safety data for building safety cases and reports.

  • Development of building safety communications and engagement strategies for residents and occupiers.

  • Create a capability strategy to enable delivery of fire safety activities to meet company and client objectives for buildings in scope to meet forthcoming legislation.

  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on resident engagement communication frameworks to ensure safety concerns, works completed and training in place.

  • Champion, review and develop ongoing improvements to their health, safety and environmental procedures, including Integrated Management System Manuals in accordance with the requirements of PAS 99, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.

The successful candidate will create and build lasting relationships with all stakeholders and have great communication skills. This is a home-based role, but you will need to be in London on a regular basis and be able to travel across the UK as and when required.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have previous risk management experience, strong strategy development & implementation experience and be able to analyse risk management system performance, delivery of Fire, HS&E training & coaching.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, experience of and ability to write high-level, quality policies, procedures and reports and communications.

  • Be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH) or working towards.

  • Ideally, have a Property, Construction or FM background.

  • Competent with ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS 18001 or similar.

  • Formal Fire safety qualifications
