Compassion in World Farming believes that everyone has the right to healthy food that does not involve cruelty, does not involve suffering, and does not destroy our planet.

As the internationally leading farm welfare charity, they collaborate with some of the world's biggest food companies, all on the mission to drive towards an ethical and sustainable food supply.

Now in a phase of growth and development, they are seeking a Project Manager to support their 'Cages' Project's strategic development, planning and coordination across the UK.

You will also be:

  • Establishing a multistakeholder group in the UK to facilitate the promotion and adoption of the Cages project across the UK.

  • Supporting the development of key practical guidance resources on free-farrowing systems for use in our corporate engagement.

  • Playing a critical role in securing membership commitments in the UK and beyond by providing technical support to the food business account managers in their engagement with pig producers, manufacturers and retailers.

  • Representing Compassion in a variety of external fora to influence discussions around free-farrowing within the UK and European food industry.

Reporting to the Global Head of Research, you will be the face of the Cages (Free Farrowing) project in the UK and will collaborate with the wider organisation to further grow this long-term project for Compassion.

You already have:

  • A proven ability to manage Multistakeholder Forums and external engagement.

  • Knowledge of commercial chicken production and supply chains.

  • The ability to influence the direction of an external commercial entity.

  • Proven project management skills from planning through to delivery and reporting.

  • Knowledge of sales and marketing or communications disciplines.

Confident that you can add value but not 100% sure you 'tick every box'? There is no such thing as the perfect candidate. CIWF prides itself on growing the team with diverse professionals. So, however, you identify, and whatever experience you have, please apply if this is a role that excites you.
