The Senior Private Sector Advisor plays a senior, critical role in the delivery of our objectives to engage the private sector in our work. The role sits within the Corporate Partnership team, within the Strategic Partnerships department, and works closely with Global Policy & Advocacy department and with colleagues across the world to collectively deliver on our ambitions.
The Corporate Partnerships team is responsible for developing and implementing my client's Corporate Partnerships Strategies; this includes leveraging and scaling existing partnerships and creating new opportunities. In developing new and existing partnerships, the Corporate Partnerships team works closely with colleagues on policy & influencing, advocacy and technical service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Drive a global approach and strategy development for private sector engagement in collaboration with the Global Policy & Advocacy department.
Establish my client as the leading voice on WASH issues within external private sector initiatives.
Be a key external representative of my client and a strong communicator, able to build networks and alliances and be a credible voice within the private sector.
Support companies to integrate WASH into their water management strategies and sustainability agenda.
Work closely with senior managers in the Corporate Partnerships team to spot emerging opportunities and develop and embed sector-based strategies for corporate action on WASH.
Key Requirements
Degree level qualification OR equivalent work experience in relevant areas.
Significant experience working in or directly with businesses, large multinationals or business associations in the client's priority sectors (apparel, agribusiness, including FMCG)
A thorough understanding of the broad political landscape within which business needs operate, i.e. business barriers, drivers and motives.
A thorough understanding of private sector priorities and their role in international development and WASH provisioning.
