Acre has partnered with a growth stage startup offering a turnkey microgrid service and their own modular off-grid microgrid technology that is currently deployed in remote areas of the US. The company has industry-leading levels of reliability and is doubling their project capacity year over year, so they need an accomplished senior/staff level project engineer capable of leading the design and execution of various microgrid projects.

This remote position reports into the Head of Engineering and comes with high levels of autonomy and ownership over various larger-scale microgrid projects (2-10MWh). You'll also have the opportunity to earn your way into a team lead position and eventually manage a team of project engineers focused on these larger-scale projects.

You'd be responsible for:

  • Leading the full cradle-to-grave engineering process for microgrid applications from design through project completion

  • Working closely with product and application engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and ensure client expectations are exceeded

  • Using engineering tools like Homer, ETAP, Autocad, Helioscope, PVSyst, etc. to design systems

  • Creating project bids/proposals in accordance with relevant codes and standards

You will have:

  • 3-5+ years of direct experience in a project engineering or electrical design position focused on either microgrid or utility-scale energy storage projects

  • SME-level understanding of DER technologies like solar, generators, batteries, fuel cells, etc.

  • Excellent communication and project management skills garnered from experience completing similar projects (experience with development, design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases is ideal)

  • Understanding of relevant codes and standards

  • Experience with ESS control systems/architecture, and with protection devices

If you are looking to take on a challenging role where you own the full project lifecycle of microgrid projects and eventually lead a team, please apply! If you don't feel like you meet every requirement, we still encourage you to submit your application, as there may be other openings that might also be a fit for you.
