Acre is proud to host a groundbreaking event bringing together Indigenous representatives from across the globe to explore transformative pathways for direct, equitable, and sustainable climate finance. The discussion centres on the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities (GATC)—the world’s largest coalition of Indigenous peoples, stewards of 950 million hectares of tropical forest and home to more than 35 million people across 24 countries.
This convening aims to amplify Indigenous voices and leadership in shaping climate finance mechanisms that not only respect Indigenous sovereignty but actively accelerate nature-based solutions through community-led stewardship.
By bridging financial innovation with traditional ecological knowledge, this dialogue seeks to identify systemic shifts required to embed justice, autonomy, and resilience in global environmental funding models. This event exemplifies Acre’s commitment to driving systemic change by convening influential changemakers to dismantle silos and co-create inclusive climate solutions.
