Acre has exclusively partnered with an ever-expanding global leader in the Electric Vehicle and Battery Manufacturing sectors in search of a Global Sourcing Specialist. This person will lead the sourcing strategy across PCS, inverters, transformers, and related electrical equipment supporting utility-scale and C&I ESS programs.
This role is materially different from traditional component sourcing. It requires someone technically minded who intimately understands equipment-level contracts and long-lead electrical systems, but also someone who is an adept negotiator and strategist who has demonstrated experience establishing global sourcing strategies.
You’d be responsible for
- Owning a global sourcing strategy for PCS (Power Conversion Systems), transformers, inverters, switchgear, and other electrical sub-systems (breakers, cables, etc.)
- Lead RFQs, supplier selection and negotiations, and contract structuring across North America and Europe
- Negotiate equipment contracts, including terms tied to warranties, performance guarantees, LDs, and service obligations
- Partner closely with engineering and program management teams to support NPI, cost modeling, and supplier technical alignment
- Develop cost models and frameworks to drive structured cost-down roadmaps
- Drive localization and dual-sourcing strategies to reduce geopolitical and tariff exposure
- Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, quality, capacity) and mitigate supply risk
To be successful, you’ll have
- BS in Engineering or Supply Chain preferred with 5-10+ years in global sourcing/supply chain within energy storage, grid-tied power electronics, EV charging, or renewable energy equipment
- Experience negotiating equipment contracts, not just component PO pricing
- Strong commercial acumen - negotiation skills are key
- Ability to engage engineering teams in technical discussions around inverter topology, PCS architecture, transformer specifications
- Experience operating in a global, matrixed manufacturing environment (North America and European supplier experience preferred)
- Willingness to work onsite in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, 5 days per week (relocation package available)
- Familiarity with localization strategies (IRA/tariff considerations)
If you want a high-impact sourcing position with high autonomy and growth potential, this is not to be missed. Please apply with a copy of your resume.
