Acre has partnered with an early-stage technology agnostic development platform that focuses on deploying complex industrial energy projects through novel financing structures. This is a high-growth Series A startup with strong backing and seasoned founders that is destined to revolutionize the industrial energy landscape.
As the business scales, the need to bring deep technical expertise in-house is quickly growing, and we're looking to secure a highly technical solutions development leader. The Director of Solutions Development will serve as the company's senior technical lead across industrial electrification technologies, advanced thermal and power generation technologies, and advanced power and thermal storage technologies.
Responsibilities
- Leading Technology & OEM diligence - it's your responsibility to develop clear technical viewpoints of every technology and OEM in the heavy industrial energy ecosystem
- Application/Solutions Engineering - you'll partner closely with the Business Development team early in the origination lifecycle to identify optimal systems architecture
- Technical Sales support - you'd be the technical SME interfacing with customers where needed, from early stage origination through late stage development
- Project feasibility and scoping - you will lead technical feasibility studies, systems architecture, and techno-economic analysis for all projects
- Executive stakeholder management - you'd support the C-suite with investor and partner diligence, clearly articulating the company's technology strategy and execution approach
We're looking for someone who has
- B.S. (M.S.+ Preferred) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' experience in solutions architecture, systems engineering, technical sales, and/or applications engineering. Expertise in industrial thermal systems is required.
- Deep technical expertise in industrial thermal energy technologies, including but not limited to: Combined Heat and Power (CHP), Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR), industrial heat pumps, power-to-heat, thermal energy storage, onsite power generation, etc.
- Demonstrated experience operating as a broad technologist across a plethora of industrial energy technologies
- Strong commercial acuity, with proven experience modeling advanced industrial energy project technoeconomics
- Experience working on emerging, near-of-a-kind, or first-of-a-kind industrial energy projects is an asset
- Experience in energy savings performance contracting (ESPC)
