Acre has partnered with a growth-stage startup that has developed a novel material recycling platform set to revolutionize and decarbonize advanced manufacturing supply chains. They took an economics-first approach, creating a platform that produces carbon-negative material at a fraction of standard material costs, and they are growing quickly.
As they seek to improve their next-generation system, there is an increasing need to develop advanced multi-physics simulation models, and we're looking for a senior-level mechanical engineer to lead the charge.
Responsibilities
- Developing complex multi-physics simulation models featuring complex fluid mechanics heat transfer phenomena (compressible flow, high temperature plasma, atomization, etc.)
- Model validation and testing; you’d be responsible for devising tests to validate the models you develop
- Mechanical design and development; when you’re not building models, you’ll be leading the mechanical design of various complex mechanical systems and subassemblies. Experience and understanding of electromechanical systems design is a plus!
- Collaborating with and leading a team of junior engineers through drafting, fabrication, and assembly phases; we’re looking for a senior-level hire with high technical confidence and mentorship ability
Requirements
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering (Masters+ preferred) with 5-10+ years mechanical design experience
- Demonstrated success with building complex Finite Element Analysis (FEA) / Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models. High-temperature thermo-fluid system modeling experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with ANSYS products (Fluent), experience with a multitude of simulation platforms (COMSOL, STAR-CCM+, Abaqus, etc.) is preferred.
- Expertise with CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Siemens NX, etc.)
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
If you’re looking to work for a business cleaning up high-emission advanced manufacturing industries in a way that outpaces legacy economics, please apply now with a copy of your resume! Even if you don’t completely match the brief, we want to review your background as we’re open to people coming from different backgrounds and are hiring at multiple levels.
