The Company
Acre is proudly working with one of the world's leading battery manufacturers and a global leader in lithium-ion energy storage technology. Backed by major investors and powered by over 10,000 patents, they are at the forefront of accelerating electrified transportation and the clean energy transition.
With a $2 billion gigafactory now operational, they are rapidly scaling their U.S. power station portfolio across solar and battery energy storage. This is a company not just building batteries, but building the infrastructure backbone of the energy transition.
The Role
This is a senior investment hire that sits at the heart of a major U.S. clean energy growth strategy. As Power Plant Investment Manager/Director, you will lead the full lifecycle of U.S. power station investments - from origination and due diligence through to post-investment asset management and performance optimisation.
You will serve as the critical bridge between U.S. operations and headquarters in Asia, coordinating capital allocation decisions, reporting on project performance, and ensuring seamless cross-border execution. This is a high-visibility role with real strategic scope for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Lead investment expansion and due diligence for U.S.-based power station projects (solar, energy storage), including financial modelling, investment return analysis, and feasibility studies
- Structure investment transactions, lead commercial negotiations, and execute key agreements; oversee financing arrangements, including tax equity structures under the IRA and PPA negotiation
- Manage post-investment financial performance by tracking key metrics such as cost per kWh and O&M expenses; prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Evaluate reinvestment projects (e.g. technical upgrades, capacity expansions) by building return models (IRR, NPV) to support capital allocation decisions
- Report project progress and investment analysis regularly to international headquarters, coordinating resources across U.S. and global teams to ensure aligned decision-making
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Energy, or a related field; CPA/CFA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in power station or renewable energy investment, with strong knowledge of U.S. electricity market mechanics - PPA negotiation, interconnection processes, and tax equity financing under the IRA
- Proven track record of closed transactions and expertise in financial modelling, valuation, and risk assessment for complex infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with financial metrics and cost control during the operational phase of power stations; experience as a Financial Business Partner is a plus
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with confidence negotiating and presenting in a professional cross-cultural setting
- Comfortable with cross-border travel and working across international teams
Why This Role
The U.S. clean energy investment landscape is at an inflection point, and our client is one of the best-capitalised companies in the world to take advantage of it. This role offers:
- Strategic influence - a seat at the table for major U.S. capital allocation decisions, not a siloed finance function
- Global exposure - direct interface with senior international leadership, with real cross-border career progression
- Platform scale - the backing of a top-six global battery manufacturer with a $2B U.S. facility already live and a growing power station pipeline
