About the Role
The Copper Mark is seeking an experienced Policy & Regulations Lead to shape and deliver its global policy engagement strategy. This is a newly created position that will place the successful candidate at the centre of some of the most important regulatory and policy discussions influencing the future of mining, critical minerals, sustainability, and responsible production.
Working closely with senior leadership, the Policy & Regulations Lead will monitor emerging regulatory developments, identify strategic opportunities for engagement, and represent the organisation in high-profile international forums, consultations, and multi-stakeholder initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced policy professional to influence industry-wide conversations and help shape the future of responsible metals and mineral supply chains.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead The Copper Mark's global policy and regulatory engagement strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and objectives.
- Monitor, analyse, and communicate emerging policy and regulatory developments impacting mining, metals, sustainability, critical minerals, and global supply chains.
- Provide strategic policy advice to leadership and internal teams, identifying risks, opportunities, and implications for the organisation and its stakeholders.
- Represent The Copper Mark in consultations, working groups, conferences, industry initiatives, and multi-stakeholder forums across international and regional policy landscapes.
- Coordinate internal policy engagement activities and ensure consistent messaging across external stakeholder interactions and communications.
About You
- Significant experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, government relations, sustainability policy, or a related field within industry, international organisations, NGOs, consultancies, or public bodies.
- Strong understanding of policy and regulatory frameworks relating to mining, metals, sustainability, responsible sourcing, critical minerals, or complex global value chains.
- Demonstrable experience engaging with international policy forums, intergovernmental organisations, standard-setting bodies, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.
- Proven experience navigating EU regulatory processes, consultations, stakeholder platforms, and engagement with European institutions and authorities.
- An organised, proactive, and credible communicator, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders and translating complex regulatory developments into clear business insights.
