Acre is working with one of the UK's largest banks to help them hire an Associate Director- Biodiversity and Nature. They are a diversified bank with a global footprint and have been at the forefront of driving the sustainability agenda within the UK banking sector. Reporting to the Group Director of Sustainability, you will be working closely with the team to develop the group biodiversity strategy and frameworks while working closely with the front office bankers to advise on biodiversity risk.
You will be responsible for:
Working closely with the team to develop the group biodiversity strategy, policy and frameworks
Staying abreast of the developments in biodiversity and natural capital, how it's relevant, and how it is translating into tools and practices used in financial services and for clients
Engage in and closely follow the market and regulatory developments with regard to industry initiatives and plans for biodiversity and nature in broader sustainable finance strategies
Support the team in engaging in external industry initiatives that help the sector to evolve approaches to biodiversity and nature
Collaborating with stakeholders across group teams to drive the biodiversity agenda and ensuring their inputs are integrated into resulting methodologies
Supporting business teams on due diligence enhancement and transactions by providing expert input relating to biodiversity
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
Experience in biodiversity strategy or policy, preferably with some exposure to the financial services industry
Experience in developing biodiversity mythologies and frameworks either in-house or as a consultant
Experience in assessing biodiversity risk or broader environmental risk in the context of due diligence and business strategy
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
