Are you an experienced social value or CSR professional that is passionate about making a real difference to the community?

You're possibly a Community Development Officer for a local council or housing association, proud of the difference you make but have the desire to take the next step. Are you confident of your ability to lead a small team and ultimately create more impact and change than you are now?

If this sounds like you, then we have the perfect role for you.

Acre has partnered with one of the UK's leading housing associations and a member of the G15, with thousands of homes across London and the Home Counties. Our client is searching for a Community Development Manager, reporting to the Head of Community Development. You will lead a small team and lead the approach to community investment in priority areas.

You will be:

  • Developing high-quality community investment plans for development and regeneration schemes.

  • Creating and nurturing strong relationships with other agencies, collaborating to take a systemic approach to tackle issues experienced by communities.

  • Managing a small team of Community Development Officers, leading by example and supporting them in their professional development.

  • Working closely with Development colleagues to help shape bids for new homes.

  • Identifying partnership opportunities that can result in additional investment and resources to support the building of new homes and services.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience working as a Community Development or Social Value professional within social housing, local government, construction, or a related sector.

  • The ability to lead and develop a small team. We are open to considering those who have not directly line managed before but have the desire to take the next step.

  • Excellent networking skills, both internally across the organisation and with key external stakeholders such as schools and local authorities.
