Acre has partnered with a leading global asset manager committed to integrating ESG best practices in investment and operating activities to hire a Director of Social Impact.

Reporting to the CSO, you will lead social impact collaboration and initiatives across private markets creating long term value for clients and key stakeholders and making a positive impact on the environment and society.

The ideal candidate will be someone who combines a profound understanding of social value opportunities and risks with demonstrated leadership in social impact, a deep appreciation for the importance of credible and transparent DEI programs, and the ability to credibly interact with investment professionals, global institutional investors, and diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of innovative social impact value propositions and considerations for systematically integrating them into the investment processes for private markets asset classes, including private equity & credit, infrastructure, real estate, agriculture, and timberland.

  • Provide strategic expertise, guidance, and appropriate tools to identify and manage social risks and opportunities across private markets asset classes.

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote our social impact programs and progress.

  • Coordinate internal and external resources to contribute social impact stories and metrics to sustainability reports and submissions to industry benchmarks (e.g., PRI, GRESB).

  • Collaborate with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), human resources, and talent acquisition teams to amplify our DEI strategy

  • Engage in a continuous and autonomous manner with senior management across the organization including heads of asset classes, functional leads in the firm's Investment Management, and the global sustainability team.

  • Provide subject matter leadership during client meetings that require social impact focus across private markets asset classes.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in a relevant field required

  • 5-8 years of sustainability and/or social impact experience required; candidates with prior asset management or financial institution experience strongly preferred

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with social impact frameworks/assessment and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and practices

  • Deep and demonstrated knowledge of social impact and DEI risks and opportunities and their applicability to private markets businesses and investing

  • Ability to work within a matrix organization and influence across a broad range of internal stakeholders

  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills
