We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Carbon Analyst to join their growing team. As a Senior Carbon Analyst, you will play a critical role in the development and execution of our carbon projects.

You will work closely with a team of experts to develop and review technical aspects of carbon projects, provide guidance on project typology, eligible methodologies, and design and implementation of carbon monitoring. You will also develop models for baseline, ex-ante carbon calculations, and ex-post emission reductions/removals of NBS carbon projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review technical aspects of NBS carbon projects and provide guidance regarding project typology, eligible methodologies and design and implementation of carbon monitoring

  • Develop models for baseline, ex-ante carbon calculations, and ex-post emission reductions/removals of NBS carbon projects

  • Compile data from literature and field data, including forest inventory and harvest data for GHG accounting procedures for NBS projects

  • Contribute to developing biomass calculations associated with land-use change and forest management, including modeling timber management plans

  • Support the technical team to ensure projects comply with different GHG program certification schemes

  • Support projects at all stages, including feasibility, listing, registration and issuance process

  • Support technical writing of documents such as feasibility reports, project design and monitoring reports

  • Interact with researchers and scientists to obtain information

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in carbon project development, GHG accounting, or a related field

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing carbon monitoring plans

  • Experience with satellite/remote sensing data and bioinformatics

  • Experience working with >= 1 GHG programs (Verra, Climate Action Reserve, Gold Standard, ISO, etc.) (Nature Based Preferred)

  • Strong understanding of carbon markets and regulations

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in English is essential.
