Fitwel is the world’s leading evidence-based certification system committed to building health for all®. The standard—originally created by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and U.S. General Services Administration—is maintained and validated by the global nonprofit Center for Active Design (CfAD).

To date, Fitwel’s global base of more than 5,400 users from 40+ countries has registered more than 2,100 projects representing approximately 675 million square feet and positively affecting the lives of 1.3 million people.

To help respond to growing demand and drive the implementation of Fitwel, CfAD recently announced the creation of a new business unit, Active Design Advisors, Inc., (Adai). Employees of Adai will be responsible for promoting and administering the Fitwel certification as it expands across key markets, as well as maintaining its best-in-class customer service.

Acre is partnering with Adai to build out its business development, sales and marketing team. As part of this team, Adai is looking to hire an experienced, passionate Marketing & Communications Manager.

As the Marketing & Communications Manager, you will:

  • Apply your exceptional writing and storytelling skills to create strategic narratives supporting all facets of our work, with an eye for clarity and consistency.

  • Support and execute marketing communications strategies and plans for key initiatives that advance the Fitwel® brand and reputation (e.g., product launches, new programs, joint marketing campaigns, and the like).

  • Help develop a rich content/editorial calendar.

  • Support the creation and publish content in a timely and thoughtful manner.

  • Help refine our PR and social media strategies.

  • Coordinate as needed with PR representatives from Fitwel®

  • Support the creation of messaging and talking points for our spokespeople, including media interviews and speaking opportunities at industry conferences and events.

  • Support ad-hoc projects to ensure copy and content is consistent with company voice and branding.

  • Coordinate workflows across internal teams, including Research, Product, Technology and Business Development.

  • Monitor performance metrics where applicable and identify areas for improvement and innovation.

  • Help keep us abreast of industry trends as well as the latest communication and outreach tools.

You are a strong fit for this role if you have:

  • Personal passion for helping to promote the healthy building movement

  • College degree in a related field preferred (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, BA, BS)

  • Minimum 3-7 years of work experience in a strategic marketing communications role (PR, corporate communications, content marketing)

  • Experience with enterprise/B2B marketing a plus

  • Relevant industry experience in proptech, urban planning, urban studies, public health, architecture, sustainability or a related field is a plus

  • Effective storyteller with proven case studies across multiple platforms (ads, blogs, social media, PR, websites, collateral, etc.)

  • Fast learner, curious mind, earnest collaborator

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Creative problem-solver, a self-starter with demonstrated good judgment, critical thinking, flexibility and resourcefulness

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud and web-based content management systems
