Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly financial close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Prepare management and operational reporting packages.
- Improve the accuracy and completeness of financial budgets and forecasts aligned with business strategy.
- Safeguard company assets and ensure accurate, complete, and timely recording of transactions through strong internal controls.
- Oversee the accuracy and productivity of day‑to‑day accounting functions, including accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general ledger accounting, and cost accounting.
- Perform financial analysis to support business initiatives, capital expenditures, product costing, and special projects.
- Partner with cross-functional peers to share insights and support best‑practice development.
- Coordinate with external auditors, financial institutions, insurance partners, credit card providers, collection agencies, and regulatory authorities.
- Manage a small team of more junior accountants.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and working with ERPs to support operational needs.
- Strong proficiency in spreadsheets, charts, and presentations to convey financial concepts.
- Previous experience managing junior accounting or finance professionals.
