Senior Responsible Investment Analyst

Church Commissioners of England

Acre is pleased to be partnering with the Church Commissioners for England to aid them in their search for a Senior Responsible Investment Analyst.

The Church Commissioners for England is a leading UK asset owner that manage over £11Bn of assets and is committed to investing responsibly across both public and private markets asset classes, namely: equities, fixed income, forestry, agriculture, and real estate.

The Commissioners see responsible investment as a way to navigate systemic risk, focusing on three key areas: Respecting People, the Planet, and being insistent on the need for Good Governance.

The Senior Responsible Investment Analyst sits as part of a high-profile, motivated, and collegiate Responsible Investment team of 8, with significant scope for demonstrating leadership both within the organisation and externally.

As a Senior Analyst on the team, you will be tasked with leading projects and delivering against the Commissioners’ responsible investment policies and agenda across the thematic areas of social inequality, climate change, and nature loss.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Development of responsible investment programmes, with a mandate to be ambitious and collaborate extensively with peers to maximise impact.
  • Lead on key projects and processes within the team.
  • Own specific workstreams within the wider RI function.

 

Stewardship and Proxy Voting

 

  • Engage with companies across our key engagement programmes.
  • Company research in relation to sustainability issues.
  • Conduct proxy voting alongside other team members.

 

RI Integration

 

  • Conduct RI assessment and engagement with external managers across asset classes.
  • Support the application of the Church Commissioners’ ethical restrictions.

 

Stakeholder Management

 

  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, liaising with the communications team to respond to queries on RI activities.
  • Own and lead relationships with specific external organisations within pre-specified workstreams.

 

Communications and Reporting

 

  • Supporting communications internally and externally.
  • Supporting the production of publications, such as the Stewardship Report, Sustainability Bond Allocation, and Impact Report.

 

Policy Implementation and Team Collaboration

 

  • Help ensure implementation of and adherence to the Church Commissioners’ Responsible Investment policies across the portfolio.
  • Contribute to the good team culture and efficient management of projects.

 

Requirements

 

  • 5+ years’ track record in responsible investment, gained in an investment industry setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on strategic objectives, with tangible outcomes.
  • Experience communicating in public forums, both written and in person.
  • Solid understanding of responsible investment issues.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills.
  • Proficient MS Office user, proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A degree in business, economics, social sciences, or similar, or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant qualification in investments, e.g., the IMC or CFA (desired).
