Acre is partnering with a major retail group to identify an experienced Head of ESG Reporting & Engagement for a 12-month maternity cover.
This role’s perfect for someone who enjoys leading a team and translating complex sustainability goals into clear, structured strategies, all while keeping communication and stakeholder engagement front and centre.
You’ll take the lead on shaping and delivering a forward-looking ESG reporting and engagement programme, making sure the business stays ahead of regulations, stakeholder expectations, and investor needs.
Responsibilities
- Lead a clear and efficient ESG reporting programme that meets regulatory standards and aligns with the company’s long-term Responsible Business goals
- Oversee delivery of annual ESG reporting, including non-financial data audits and disclosures
- Drive the rollout of a new group-wide ESG reporting system (launching in 2026)
- Work closely with senior teams across Finance, Legal, Tech, Investor Relations and Comms
- Represent the business in investor calls and ESG indices submissions
- Keep on top of evolving ESG regulations and help shape smart, compliant responses
- Lead a small team, fostering collaboration and growth
What We’re Looking For
- A proven background in corporate responsibility or ESG leadership
- Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, regulations, and best practice, ideally in a publicly listed company environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, especially at senior and external levels
- Confident presenter and communicator
- Experience managing and developing a team
