The Role: 

ImpactAssets Capital Partners is seeking a dynamic and mission-aligned Business Development Officer to lead fundraising efforts for IA Capital’s inaugural LP/GP fund and drive new client acquisition for ImpactAssets and IA Capital. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and a proven record in institutional fundraising. This person will need to bring expertise in consultative sales and experience engaging family offices, foundations, corporations, and multi-family offices across custom portfolios, funds, and investment research products. 

 

Location: Remote (Contiguous United States) 

Travel: 25-50% 

 

Role Responsibilities: 

 

Energy Catalyst Fund I - Fundraising   

  • Identify, cultivate, and qualify potential investors, developing tailored engagement strategies. Organize and lead meetings, presentations, and present the fund’s investment opportunities to potential investors with other members of IA Capital. Transition qualified leads to Investor Relations team members for the due diligence process, negotiations, and closing.  

  • Create a comprehensive fundraising plan for the Energy Catalyst Fund I (GP/LP structure) and subsequent funds, from strategy through close, including prospect identification, pipeline development, and relationship management.  

  • Develop and tailor high-impact fundraising collateral and materials including proposals, presentations and pitches to potential clients and LPs. Collaborate closely with the CEO / CIO, Investment Research, Investor Relations and other teams to ensure messaging, materials, and outreach are aligned and effective.  

Business Development for Custom Portfolios, OCIO and other Investment Research products  

  • Drive client acquisition for the impact investment advisory business, focusing on large family offices, multi-family offices, foundations, and corporate clients aligned with impact investing.  

  • Regularly report on pipeline, fundraising and client acquisition progress to management.  

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including wealth advisors, consultants, gatekeepers, and mission-aligned networks.  

  • Be fluent in all parts of our business, including the ability to qualify leads for the donor advised fund.  

 

External Presences  

  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and in one-on-one meetings with prospective investors and clients.  

  • Stay connected to the industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge.  

  • Travel approximately 2550% for in-person meetings, conferences, speaking engagements and other fundraising events and activities.  

  

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:  

  • 8+ years of experience in business development, fundraising, or client-facing roles within investment management, private funds, or wealth advisory.  

  • Demonstrated track record of raising capital from institutional and private investors, such as family offices, foundations, endowments, and/or corporates.  

  • Fluency in private markets and impact investment strategies across asset classes, with the ability to engage credibly with investment professionals and clients. Familiarity with impact investing and/or values-aligned investment strategies and the ability to communicate impact value propositions credibly and compellingly.  

  • Demonstrated understanding of the energy sector, including market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends, to effectively engage institutional investors and align fundraising strategies with industry opportunities.   

  • Strong understanding of the impact investment landscape, including investment advisory services, client relationship dynamics, and regulatory context.  

  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to engage senior-level stakeholders and adapt messaging across audiences.  

  • Self-starter with excellent follow-through, comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial, mission-driven environment with evolving structures and processes.. Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize competing demands.  

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information and investor relationships.  

  • Expert in CRM systems, pipeline reporting, and investor communications.  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with cloud-based collaboration tools Box and Asana preferred.  

  • Flexibility and willingness to do what it takes in a team environment.  

  • Experience working in a virtual working environment preferred.
