Acre is proud to partner with Cirkular Origin to appoint a Commercial Director. This is a pivotal, business‑critical role in a fast‑growing regenerative agriculture and climate‑finance platform, with end‑to‑end responsibility for revenue generation and a central role in shaping the company’s go‑to‑market strategy.
About Cirkular Origin
Founded in 2023, Cirkular Origin works with smallholder coffee farmers to scale regeneration through biochar, insetting and high‑integrity carbon markets. The company has already delivered 8,000 tCO₂e of removals and positively impacted over 400 farming families, with ambitious plans to scale significantly from 2026.
The Opportunity
This newly created role represents a pivotal stage in Cirkular Origin’s development and is a critical, strategically important hire for the business as it looks to scale. Reporting to the CEO, the Commercial Director will establish and lead the commercial function, personally originating and closing early flagship deals while building the foundations for a scalable go‑to‑market model.
You will also have the opportunity to:
- Own new-logo acquisition across target customer segments, engaging senior stakeholders within sustainability, procurement, supply-chain, climate and impact functions, and developing trusted relationships
- Design, structure and execute complex, multi-stakeholder commercial arrangements, aligning the interests of corporate buyers, intermediaries, farmer groups, verification partners and financiers to deliver commercially viable and operationally executable outcomes.
- Lead the commercial input into the design and execution of pilots and early-stage partnerships, ensuring propositions are clearly defined, risks are appropriately allocated, and learnings are captured.
- Develop and continuously refine Cirkular Origin’s go-to-market strategy, including value propositions, commercial packaging, customer prioritisation and routes to market.
- Work in close partnership with the Founder & CEO on financing-related commercial structures, including pre-sales, offtake agreements and revenue-backed arrangements, ensuring commercial activity supports future fundraising and project-finance objectives.
- Establish the foundations for a scalable commercial function over time, including defining roles, processes, performance expectations and hiring plans.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience leading and closing complex, new-logo commercial engagements, ideally within sustainability, agri-food, supply-chain or climate-adjacent sectors, with clear evidence of personally owning deals from initial origination through to negotiation and contract execution.
You will also leverage:
- A proven ability to operate as a commercially-minded builder, combining hands-on deal delivery with the capability to design, test and evolve go-to-market strategies, commercial propositions and routes to market in growth-stage or ambiguous environments.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including an understanding of pricing logic, unit economics and value drivers, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to discussions around pre-sales, offtake agreements and financing-ready deal structures.
- Credibility engaging senior stakeholders across sustainability, procurement, supply-chain and impact or climate functions within enterprise organisations
- Exposure to regenerative agriculture, insetting models, voluntary carbon markets or nature-based solutions is highly desirable; however, demonstrated learning agility and intellectual curiosity in these domains will be viewed as equally important.
- A track record of thriving in lean, fast-moving environments, with the resilience, adaptability and pragmatism required to operate effectively without established playbooks, extensive support infrastructure or mature commercial processes.
