Acre is proudly working with a mission-driven nonprofit working toward a world where only sustainable electronic technology is bought and sold, in their search for a new CEO. The CEO will head a successful and recently spun-off LLC, devoted to assuring that electronics products meet international sustainability standards, primarily the criteria of the EPEAT ecolabelLeading a staff of 5 with an annual turnover of approximately $1.3 million USD, this position is focused on growth, developing and implementing a strategic growth plan that ensures the organization’s long-term success.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for all profit & loss activity for the LLC.
  • Develops and manages annual budgets, reviewed and approved by the Board.
  • Meets or exceeds the key performance measures, including profit, established by the Board.
  • Hires, manages, and develops GEC CAB LLC’s personnel (staff and contract auditors), including ensuring they have appropriate training and are qualified, conducting performance reviews, and providing supervision and coaching.
  • Interacts and consults with GEC to ensure that conformity activities align with the long-term goals of EPEAT.
  • Develops, communicates, and supports Board activities, including managing regular Board meetings and keeping it up to date with key organizational developments.
  • Develops and implements  GEC CAB LLC’s strategic plan, subject to approval by the Board, that calls for careful yet ambitious and profitable growth through acquiring new clients, expanding existing EPEAT clients into more product categories, expanding the LLC’s business into related standards and criteria conformity assurance, and pursuing potential partnerships with like-minded organizations.
  • Develops and implements pricing to ensure that the organization is profitable and that key clients are retained.
  • Develops a marketing and business development plan that implements the aspirations of the strategic plan.
  • Oversees the development of critical marketing and sales tools that properly position the LLC in the marketplace and communicate the value proposition of the organization.
  • Markets and sells GEC CAB LLC’s services to existing and prospective clients.
  • Ensures that  GEC CAB LLC maintains a superior level of client and stakeholder support.
  • Oversees GEC CAB LLC’s conformity assurance activities and quality management system.
  • Maintains a superior level of client-focused services and engages with GEC CAB LLC clients to facilitate client retention and identify areas for improvement.
  • Selectively engages in face-to-face meetings with key clients.
  • Serves as a spokesperson for GEC CAB LLC and, where required, represents GEC at in-person meetings with external stakeholders such as institutional purchasers and/or criteria development organizations.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Demonstrable experience in growing a small organization, navigating through the complexities of leading the evolution of a start-up.
  • Strong familiarity with sustainability issues related to electronics and related products, compliance issues in complex supply chains, and an understanding of how manufacturers maintain compliance throughout their supply chains.
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience that includes messaging, identifying target markets, and developing critical value propositions.
  • Management experience, including strategic planning, pricing, managing, and mentoring staff, and the ability to oversee multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proven ability to be open-minded and client-focused.
  • Flexibility to work with stakeholders in different regions of the world. Some travel required (15%).
