Position Summary
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Analyst of Financial Data Analytics to support the organization, primarily through financial data analysis, reporting, business intelligence, and data governance. This role will partner with Accounting, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax, Internal Controls, and Finance Transformation, and other related teams to deliver actionable insights, improve data quality, and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
As part of a new team, both process creation, ownership, and keen insight will be required to scale the function. On the Controller's team, this person will have unique visibility into the entire business operation.
The ideal candidate combines strong accounting and finance knowledge with expertise in Power BI, financial data analytics, and enterprise data platforms. This individual will help build and maintain a modern financial reporting ecosystem leveraging data lake and business intelligence solutions to provide trusted, scalable, and timely financial insights.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in accounting analytics, financial reporting analytics, controllership support, finance systems, or financial data management.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, general ledger structures, account reconciliations, financial close processes, internal controls and financial reporting requirements.
- Strong accounting and financial reporting acumen (CPA or CPA Eligible preferred).
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise data lake or data warehouse initiatives.
- Experience with finance transformation, ERP implementations, or reporting modernization programs.
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, utilities, or other capital-intensive industries.
- Curiosity, ownership, and a drive to modernize financial reporting through analytics and automation.
- Expertise in Power BI and modern financial reporting technologies.
- Passion for transforming data into actionable business insights, and a commitment to data quality, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across business teams
As such, this is what you'd do:
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations that support Controllership, Accounting, and Finance leadership.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes through financial reporting, reconciliations, and analytical insights.
- Lead controllership data governance & data quality initiatives. Establish and maintain financial data standards, business definitions, reporting logic, and governance processes. Monitor data quality across financial systems and proactively identify inconsistencies, missing data, and reconciliation issues.
- Partner with Accounting teams to improve data quality, reporting consistency, and financial transparency.
- Collaborate with IT and Data teams to support the development and enhancement of financial data lake and analytics infrastructure.
- Build scalable reporting solutions that provide a single source of truth for financial information.
- Support audit, compliance, and internal control initiatives through improved financial data governance and traceability.
- Identify and implement opportunities to automate reporting and reduce manual effort.
- Support ERP modernization and finance transformation initiatives through data validation, testing, and reporting enhancements.
