In Brendan’s first year as Energy Manager for CLS Holding’s UK business, he focussed on hitting the sustainability goals and has made the Energy Management function his own. He has implemented a company-wide data platform to improve the accuracy and usability of utility information for the Property Management and Finance teams. He is currently re-tendering the energy supplies, striking the balance of procuring best value for their tenants whilst reducing carbon. CLS Holdings have supported him in continuing his professional development by sponsoring his Certified Energy Manager qualification. he has expanded his professional networks and expertise by engaging with sustainability experts through the Better Buildings Partnership and the British Property Foundation.
Before joining CLS Holdings Brendan worked as the Energy and Sustainability Manager at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He oversaw the reduction of carbon emissions by 24% and saved over £2 million in utility costs. He contributed enormously to the business and was widely recognised for his achievements.
During these early stages of CLS Holdings becoming truly sustainable Brendan feels he can use his experience and shape the development of the company’s long term strategy to sustainability. He has been engaging with commercial tenants to influence them to be more energy efficient and sustainable. He believes this will allow the company to achieve their sustainability goals.
