Acre has partnered with The Consumer Goods Forum in seeking a Senior Manager for its Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI).

The purpose of the Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) is to improve comparability and harmonisation of third-party sustainability audit and certification programmes, across the whole industry (food and non- food).

This will be done through a formal, independent benchmarking and recognition process, similar in concept to the CGF's own Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and to the Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI).

The SSCI will provide members with an important and unique additional tool. The Senior Manager's role will be to work on the delivery of all services related to SSCI, including:

  • Implementation and further development of the strategic goals of the initiative with the Steering Committee

  • Overseeing the delivery of the initiative // coordinating the benchmark process of schemes

  • Supporting communication to prospects, members and stakeholders

You will be reporting directly to the Sustainability Director and will be based at the CGF's headquarters in the Paris area with a hybrid working policy.

Your key responsibilities

Strategy & Governance:

  • Support the implementation and further development of the SSCI strategic objectives

  • Manage relevant working groups and contribute to the liaison with the CGF Board

  • Identify, implement and maintain strategic partnerships

  • Identify and monitor indicators of the impact of the SSCI

  • Report on delivery of the SSCI and prepare briefings to the CGF Board

  • Ensure the delivery and/or contribution to relevant Working Groups

Member and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Prepare and manage working groups and stakeholder engagement activities (e.g. organisation of meetings, conference calls and webinars) and moderate in-person meetings and conference calls

  • Prepare background briefings on responsible sourcing and social and environmental compliance in global supply chains

Benchmark Process:

  • Support the coordination and administration of new and ongoing benchmarks

  • Manage the relationship with benchmark users and independent benchmark leaders by providing expertise and guidance when required, either technical, process-related and/or content-related; Participate in all benchmark calls and office visits

  • Develop and update guidance, administration and training materials for users and benchmark leaders

  • Provide administrative and logistical assistance to SSCI Benchmark Leaders (e.g. organisation of conference calls, webinars and office visits)

  • Support with regular reporting on progress to working group members and the CGF internally and the continuous improvement of the benchmarking process

Communications:

  • Implement and further develop the communications strategy of the SSCI

  • Develop communications materials, including webinars to ensure the SSCI value proposition is clearly communicated to member companies and non-member organisations and stakeholders

  • Develop communications material for working group members and stakeholders

  • Represent SSCI at industry and stakeholder events

Administration & Budget:

  • Manage the SSCI budget and related matters; Follow-up on budget related issues (e.g. Users' fees, Experts' remuneration), prepare contracts and assist with the coordination of the invoicing process.

  • Ensure the CRM database (Salesforce) is up-to-date.

Team work & cross-initiative collaboration:

  • Collaborate and support other projects of the CGF when relevant

  • Actively contribute to the preparation and delivery of relevant CGF events, e.g. the Sustainable Retail Summit

Key skills and requirements:

  • Demonstrated at least 7 years of professional experience or similar in the area of compliance, procurement, sustainability and/or auditing

  • General understanding of business on an international level and of social and environmental due diligence in supply chains

  • Understanding of the social and environmental compliance landscape and you are familiar with ethical sourcing issues and approaches

  • Ability to understand and interpret written material with particular reference to standards and monitoring systems, social and environmental compliance, legislative requirements, auditing processes and procedures

  • Experience working within a client services environment

  • You are able to demonstrate strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that tight deadlines are met

  • Meticulous organisational skills, rigorous and attention to detail

  • Teamplayer with strong intercultural skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Fluency in French is a good to have.
