CEO - Reforestation & Conservation

Acre has been retained by a non-profit leader in global reforestation and conservation. Our client has successfully planted hundreds of millions of trees in nearly 100 countries and is committed to a mission of planting one billion or more. These projects have a significant impact, safeguarding the habitats of numerous endangered species and revitalizing local economies globally, benefitting the communities dependent on them.

Following several years of substantial expansion, resulting in a team of over 120 employees and an annual turnover exceeding $60 million, the board and founder are now in search of the next CEO to lead them through their next growth phase. The aim for this hire, irrespective of the successful candidate's industry background, is to find someone with the ability to manage organizations of scale and successfully scale them further, as this company aims to grow 2-4 times larger in the coming years. They will rely on this individual to establish the necessary operational and financial systems to achieve this goal.

Key Success Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience in managing an operation with at least 75+ employees and $30-40+ million in turnover within a 'project-led' industry, such as reforestation, carbon removal, energy, or general infrastructure.

• This person cannot be one who 'manages from a distance.' They must exhibit a hands-on management style and immerse themselves in the daily operations of the business.

• We welcome candidates from both for-profit and non-profit organizations, but it is imperative that they understand the distinctive culture of a non-profit, mission-driven organization.

• Demonstrated experience in fostering a robust business culture, capable of guiding employees through decision-making processes.

• Ideally, this person should also possess a strong technical acumen to complement their commercial skills.

• This role is likely to require a degree and a preferred advanced qualification, such as an MSc or MBA.
