The role: Data and Reporting Specialist - Sustainable Packaging

Perfetti Van Melle is fully committed to improving the environmental impact across its value chain, and reducing plastic and water usage in manufacturing its products. In September 2021, Perfetti Van Melle signed on to the Science Based Targets Organization, publicly sharing its commitment to set science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets across its supply chain.

As Sustainability Manager, you will enable Perfetti Van Melle to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable global value chain on packaging and carbon emissions.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • In this role, you willbe responsible for managing the data collection and reporting of the group's environmental footprint and packaging KPIs.

  • Develop and implement the manufacturing and supplier due diligence and auditing program (e.g. SEDEX and associated SMETA audits).

  • Design and implement a plan on how to measure Perfetti Van Melle products' environmental impacts.

  • Support collecting and reporting relevant data and information to meet the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.

  • You will report directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer and engage with internal departments, teams, and business units across different regions. Collaborating with drafting the non-financial report and designing the sustainability communication strategy of Perfetti Van Melle, including eco-labelling and on-pack claims.

  • Engage with external stakeholders: certification providers, sustainability consultants, data, and reporting suppliers.

Who are you, and what do you bring?

  • You have experience in sustainability measurement and reporting, with either an in-house or a consulting role.

  • You bring subject matter expertise in Sustainable Packaging and Net Zero Carbon with a focus on product value chain data.

  • Technical knowledge and application of measurement, reporting, and auditing/due diligence methods and tools. Specifically relating to packaging and environmental footprint such as GHG emissions, and ideally, also experience or knowledge in product LCA and SMETA audits.

  • You can communicate and present technical concepts and results relating to environmental and social sustainability KPIs to a non-technical audience.

  • A detail-oriented, self-motivated and highly organised mindset with solid problem-solving skills.

  • English language fluency is a must-have to drive change in this role. While this role allows remote work from any European country, being located in the Netherlands would be favourable.
