The Mission

Are you a dynamic and impactful Government & Public Affairs leader who can develop and deliver Tetra Pak's agenda across the US and Canada?

Do you appreciate the value of protecting the food, people and planet and are you willing to go an extra mile about it?

If yes, then we would be delighted to have you join us to:

  • Develop the government affairs strategy on the federal and states' level

  • Build and maintain solid relationships with key decision makers, NGOs, IGOs, local opinion formers and strategic partners

  • Monitor and escalate key sustainability, food, trade, digital and other relevant policy developments

  • Craft and implement policy advocacy strategy on the federal and key states'

    level related to food packaging and processing industry, packaging waste, climate and food

  • Make a step change in raising Tetra Pak and beverage cartons industry's profile among decision-makers and opinion formers

  • Coordinate government relations and policy engagement on behalf of our US and Canada CEO and the management team

  • Collaborate and lead advocacy within trade associations

  • Position Tetra Pak as a food systems company while protecting our license to operate in the context of EPR, DRS and recyclability policy challenges

If yes, you will:

  • Interact with our business units' leaders and advise on the major policy challenges and opportunities in the US and Canada as two major markets for Tetra Pak

An ideal candidate should:

  • Have a true passion for sustainability and food policy

  • Bring extensive experience in the food and beverage packaging supply system

  • Be willing to be based in Washington D.C. or its surroundings and travel at least 30% of the time (flexible work arrangements possible)

  • At least 10 years of US federal or state policy lobbying and government affairs - ideally dealing with Capitol Hill and Federal agencies

  • Previous experience in a similar industry would be an advantage

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and impeccable writing skills

  • Developed sense of executive communications and sensitivity toward multicultural environment and teams

  • Have a pristine record of compliance with regulations and good governance when it comes to lobbying and policy advocacy
