Our client is a leading global distributed energy company with the purpose of bringing together people, energy, and markets to power and navigate a changing world. Their Energy Solutions team plays a key role in their mission of helping the world reach net zero. They are looking to hire an Energy Systems Modeller to focus on models for energy storage optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the business teams with modelling and technical expertise for EV charging and stationary storage while providing technology insights to deliver strategic energy goals

  • Research new methods in support of optimisation problems related to grid demand and maximising energy storage utilisation

  • Design and development of energy models to understand the efficiencies of various long-duration energy storage systems and its applications

  • Support the team with the design and development of fast-charging EV networks for passenger cars and trucks with key focus on integration with different energy vectors

  • Development of charging infrastructure research workstreams in support of the ultra-fast charging strategy

Essential Experience and Education:

  • Degree in Energy Systems/Mathematical/Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

  • Strong experience in software product development using Python, R and MATLAB

  • Strong experience in power optimisation modelling using Pyomo, PuLP and CPLEX

  • Good understanding of mixed integer and linear programming, deterministic and stochastic optimisation

  • Some understanding of energy storage services and EV markets will be highly beneficial
