Are you an experienced environmental compliance professional looking to work for an organisation that is serious about its sustainability journey?

Acre is currently working with a market-leading transport organisation that has sustainability at the forefront of everything they do and is responsible for serving millions of customers every single year.

In this newly created role, you will be accelerating the environmental compliance strategy. You'll do this by working closely with other members of the sustainability team to meet current regulatory standards while developing forward-thinking strategies to future-proof all operations.

Main activities and responsibilities of the role include:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet compliance requirements, whilst also streamlining reporting processes and pushing for improvements wherever possible

  • Maintain a detailed understanding of current and emerging environmental regulations, you enjoy horizon-scanning and keeping close to the market for other trends or themes you could integrate into this function too

  • Ensure compliance with ISO14001 and ISO50001 standards

  • Manage environmental planning conditions related to water, ground contamination, and emissions, as well as address climate adaptation risks and implement operational changes

In this role, you will be able to leverage the following skills:

  • A strong track record in environmental management and expertise in working across themes like carbon, water, waste, ground contamination, emissions, and permitting

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects

  • Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. You enjoy working with a team, collaborating and pushing for success
