ESG Analyst

Acre is partnered with one of Europe's largest asset managers that is now growing their team in the USA. We're working with them as they look to make their first ESG hire in North America. As an ESG Analyst, you will oversee the ESG integration and implementation of the company's fixed income portfolio strategies while also taking a lead on client and team inquiries. This is a hybrid role, mixing investment research with ESG integration work with a newly acquired team.

Responsibilities

  • Leading on, and overseeing, the implementation of the ESG investment policies and processes (key elements being ESG integration and engagement) primarily for Minneapolis based fixed income strategies/portfolios (over time, also supporting of the Stamford based investment teams).

  • Building the ESG capabilities of the Minneapolis based fixed income team by leading and supporting ESG educational and training efforts, sharing and generating ESG insights from relevant research and analysis as well as supporting ESG engagement efforts where appropriate.

  • Liaising and working effectively and efficiently with different internal functions such as compliance, IT, sales and client teams, to deliver on ESG outputs.

  • Providing input and participating in, investor interactions, as well as supporting external ESG activities in the US to ensure effective communication and ESG investment practices.

  • Ensuring effective communication of performance and progress of ESG efforts with the London ESG team, as well as Toronto-based ESG colleagues in the Global Asset Management - Corporate Governance Responsible Investing (GAM CGRI) team.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable robust, wide-ranging and in-depth knowledge and understanding of ESG/sustainability issues through academic/professional qualifications and/or ESG investment industry experience (5+ years' experience).

  • Good working technical knowledge of investment (specifically fixed income) and credit analysis, gained through academic/professional qualifications (e.g., CFA). Rigorous research and analytical skills which demonstrate an ability to evaluate ESG data/information to identify investment material insights, apply good judgement and make recommendations which inform on credit investment risk analysis.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships in order to drive positive outcomes whilst acting as an ambassador for ESG fixed income capabilities.

  • Strong project management / organizational skills are essential in order to effectively respond and prioritize tasks effectively in light of changing workloads, as is the ability to demonstrate rigorous attention to detail, and ability to produce quality work whilst meeting deadline.

  • Competence in working independently with minimal supervision and take ownership of tasks, as well as operate collaboratively to support team members on shared projects/team tasks.
