Are you an ESG or sustainability professional looking to take a step up? Are you interested in a position with global accountability or a business with a large footprint in emerging markets?

This organisation, a multinational energy firm based in Geneva, is looking for someone like you to lead its ESG & carbon function, helping to articulate a forward-thinking strategy which can be embedded across its global asset base and business operations.

Reporting directly to an ExCo member, this opportunity will suit someone who is ambitious, resilient and has a personal interest in scaling the global energy transition.

In this role, you will be:

  • Working with the ExCo, global leadership teams and external stakeholders to embed a newly created ESG strategy consisting of GHG reduction, ambitious Net Zero targets and sustainable resource management

  • Leading on the creation of a carbon business with a focus on project origination/generation and afforestation/reforestation in emerging markets

  • Partnering with the supply chain to drive transparency, carbon reduction and sustainability performance globally

  • Leading the organisation's approach to corporate reporting mechanisms and indices, such as CDP, TCFD, CSRD, DJSI and GRI

  • Horizon scanning and monitoring emerging trends relevant to the changing sustainability landscape, ensuring the business is proactive in its approach

  • Developing the annual ESG report and helping to integrate into the company's annual report

To succeed, you'll need:

  • The ability to work in an agile and ever-changing environment - you'll have ESG and climate change experience in either a large multinational, a climate-focused consultancy or a financial services firm

  • A solid technical understanding - you'll have practical knowledge of climate reporting and disclosure tools such as CDP, CSRD and GRI

  • Both a hands-on approach and strategic approach - you will be energised by delivering impactful ESG programmes as well as advising on corporate strategy

  • An eye for detail - you'll be just as at home with large data sets as you are with engaging board members

This is a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Manager or an Analyst to step up into a true leadership role within a multi-billion dollar, global energy business. You will play a key role in driving change and innovation and ultimately helping the business achieve its sustainability and ESG goals.
