Sustainability is integral to our client and a key part of their Net Zero 2040 strategy. The management of global sustainability programmes is complex and challenging. To advance progress towards their goals, they need to drive change and identify opportunities for further engagement and improvements.

As the Global Sustainability Lead, you will be the key contact for their largest global banking account, ensuring that their sustainable service offerings and tools are aligned with the client to deliver environmental performance, manage operational environmental programme delivery, which includes regulatory compliance, and delivering against the client targets and KPIs. You will support in facilitating their global sustainability programmes, and develop initiatives and concepts that will deliver on net zero targets across various campuses and corporate buildings globally.

You will also connect with sustainability and energy leads across the global team to enable key sharing of innovation, which will also benefit other customers and their strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Group in developing and implementing sustainable product offers, delivering compliance and providing management support to implement Net-Zero programmes

  • Support the achievement of the client's accelerated sustainability goals, implementing the set of operational programmes that reduce resource use and associated carbon footprint

  • Develop, support, and assure delivery of Sustainability programmes on the account globally, which currently include a Global Energy Optimisation Programme and Global Zero Waste Programme, but will expand over time

  • Manage regional environmental coordinators, consolidate environmental targets and programmes, manage and monitor progress through monthly reporting mechanisms

  • Ensure integration of sustainability principles into all curated experiences

  • Contribute and support globally established forums and networks to facilitate customer service delivery and drive innovation as a group

This role will suit an experienced sustainability practitioner who has ideally worked at a global level, understands the challenges of working across multiple sites, regions and time zones, and can engage and influence a range of stakeholders. This is a high-profile, fast-paced position; candidates need to think strategically and roll up their sleeves, diving into operational mode as and when needed.

Experience:

  • Previous senior experience in managing environmental programmes with strategic planning and performance management experience

  • Experience in systems, data reporting and process management within the sustainability sector

  • Proven people and team management skills

  • Extensive knowledge of the major sustainability sector trends, how they impact clients & how to overcome them with sustainable solutions

  • Validated ability to lead collaboration across diverse teams within a large organization and inspire confidence to motivate groups collectively to meet common goals and objects

  • Strong business acumen and strategic, quantitative, and analytical problem-solving skills
