The Earthshot Prize (TEP)

The Earthshot Prize seeks to unleash urgent optimism and action by discovering, accelerating, awarding, spotlighting and scaling solutions that can repair and regenerate the planet.

In 2023, we find ourselves in a world that is going through seismic change. The challenge we face as a global community is to ensure that climate denialism doesn't slip into climate defeatism.

This is where The Earthshot Prize's work plays a critical role. The Earthshot Prize Finalists tell the story of possibility, potential, inspiration and optimism. To ensure their solutions have maximum impact, their team works to support and supercharge their incredible innovations worldwide, all while seeking to identify the next cohort of amazing finalists.

What you will be doing:

The Head of APAC is an integral part of The Earthshot Prize's partnerships team and plays a central role in enabling and driving their long-term strategic goals. You will be responsible for developing and delivering strategic partnerships across the APAC region, acting as an ambassador for the TEP team, and utilising your local knowledge to inform TEP's legacy strategy within the region.

This role sits within the Partnerships team, responsible for generating exponential impact through a global alliance of mission-aligned partnerships and networks. TEP's varied and global partnerships are the engine powering our ability to drive urgent optimism and scale our eco-innovators in their journey to repair the planet.

The role will be based in Singapore. International travel will be required within the region and occasionally to Head Offices in London.

Your responsibilities include:

Strategy and partnership development

  • Design and delivery of TEP's strategy for partnerships and fundraising in the region.

  • Lead fundraising in the APAC region, ensuring that TEP has enough financial support to deliver our ambitious strategy.

  • Utilising in-region knowledge, identify partnerships and opportunities which are strategically powerful for TEP's long-term goals.

  • Create a strategy for the APAC region which ensures that TEP has a long-term legacy delivering more investment in eco-innovation.

Key relationships

  • Build strong relationships with TEP's partnerships team in London, maintaining communication across different time zones.

  • Partner with the Storytelling team to support and leverage TEP's events and activity in APAC.

  • Have a deep understanding of the Innovation team who support TEP's portfolio of eco-innovators, delivering support which allows them to scale in the region.

Leadership

  • Act as the ambassador in the region, showcasing TEP's value and representing us to key partners on the ground.

  • As the first regional lead, build the groundwork and blueprint for TEP's global presence.

  • Work closely with the whole of the TEP team to communicate key in-region knowledge and current events which impact TEP's strategy.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ambiguous start-up environment and are comfortable and adaptable to change.

  • A background in fundraising, with a strong understanding of the corporate and philanthropic world.

  • Experience with a diverse pool of partnerships, including foundations, governments, institutions, NGOs, small and big corporations, and HNWI.

  • Extensive experience in identifying win-win partnerships and knowing how to get the most out of a network of partners to supercharge strategic objectives.

  • Proven ability to design and implement long-term partnership and fundraising strategies in the APAC region, with the aim of building a legacy.

  • Expertise in either climate investment or a climate/environmental charity. This would be desirable but not a must.

  • A self-driven and autonomous approach - the role will be stand-alone within the region.

  • Exceptional communication skills across a variety of audiences and formats.

This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous start-up environment, where you will have the autonomy to drive real change and make a meaningful impact on the planet. As Head of APAC, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and experience to help TEP drive exponential influence through a global alliance of mission-aligned partnerships and networks.
