An internationally renowned energy organisation has engaged Acre to find their new Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality to oversee key regions, including Africa and the Mediterranean.

Reporting to the Vice President, you will support the development of the HSEQ team and strategically lead on both a national and global scale.

The business has operations in over 20 countries across the globe and has ambitious growth plans underpinned by the energy transition and global renewables market.

You will join a newly created team, both regionally and functionally, committed to establishing a new set of HSEQ standards to enable commercial growth and the development of new projects.

You will be responsible for:

  • Continue to develop the HSEQ strategy across the UK, Africa, and Europe

  • Work with the tendering team to win new business, acting as the subject matter expert for HSEQ

  • Conduct periodic reviews of the QHSE deliverables with each project leads

  • Identify opportunities for the business to improve their ESG performance

  • Advise on HSE legislation and liaise with regulatory bodies

  • Manage a growing team of HSEQ professionals

  • Continuously update the HSEQ management systems

About you:

  • A natural influencer and relationship builder, able to engage stakeholders across all levels

  • Experience working on a global scale, with experience in Africa, ideally Southern Africa

  • A proven leader of HSEQ in the energy sector, preferably with offshore construction experience

  • A solution-focused approach and the ability to think outside the box

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of operational and strategic Health and Safety management issues, enforcement procedures and policies
