Planet Tracker is a financial think-tank, pooling the expertise of seasoned financial market professionals with environment, industry and scientific experts. https://planet-tracker.org/

Planet Tracker is a non-profit financial think tank aligning capital markets with planetary limits. It was created to investigate the risk of market failure related to ecological limits. This investigation is primarily for the investor community where ecological limits, other than climate change, are often not aligned with investor capital. Planet Tracker generates breakthrough analytics to redefine how financial and environmental data interact with the aim of changing the practices of financial decision makers to help avoid both environmental and financial failure.

The Analyst will be tasked with undertaking financial research across several programmes but with a particular focus on Food & Land Use, seeking to identify material financial market exposures to planetary boundary related risks and opportunities. These exposures are assessed across institutional investors, listed corporates and a wide range of financial services groups. The two primary streams of research will be financial investment on one hand and natural capital analysis on the other.

The analysis will be delivered in the form of research reports to clearly define the environmental and social impact of the companies concerned and the investors and lenders who support them. The Analyst will be responsible for in-depth data gathering and research production. This will include synthesis of findings and writing of reports for external delivery to the finance community as well as a variety of audiences (e.g. media, civil society, regulators). In addition there will be engagement responsibilities including speaking in webinars, at launches, on panels and having meetings with FIs, civil society partners, funders and the media.

  • Evaluate capital market investment flows from institutional investors to corporate stakeholders where necessary via conduits such as banks, project finance, insurance or other intermediaries
