About the Role

As the Landscape Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and originating public and private financing partnership opportunities, with a focus on the public sector in Europe. You will work closely with landscape partners to design and structure investment mechanisms to be integrated into the landscape development processes, all while engaging in influencing and advocacy activities, and supporting ongoing partnerships and coalitions.

Reporting directly to the Management team, you will collaborate with various teams, including landscape development, fundraising, policy, communications, and the carbon team.

Key Responsibilities

Support to Landscape Partners:

  • Identify financing opportunities such as grants, investments, and payments for ecosystem services schemes, while supporting landscape partners in integrating them into landscape plans.

  • Assist in developing financing strategies, aligning with investor interests, and incorporating them into pitches and marketing materials.

Investment Opportunity Development:

  • Design and structure blended finance platforms tailored to each landscape's unique context.

  • Support on pre-due diligence, documentation review, and any other related activity relevant to the onboarding of new partners.

Advocacy and Influencing:

  • Engage in advocacy efforts through thought leadership and participation in conferences.

  • Collaborate with the Policy team to integrate influencing work and leverage landscape finance publications.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of international experience in project finance, preferably in agriculture, sustainability, and ecology.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess projects from ecological, social, and financial perspectives.

  • Knowledge of landscape finance and experience in designing financing mechanisms.

  • Familiarity with public funding at national and regional levels.

  • Passion for nature conservation and sustainable development.

  • Excellent networking, writing, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work strategically while paying attention to detail.

  • Team player with adaptability to an innovative environment.

  • Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus.

  • Preferred location: Amsterdam (eligible to work in the Netherlands), open to remote work and/or relocation.
