Manager or Senior Manager, Sustainability & Stewardship Overview
This position is primarily responsible for managing and executing company engagement programs, establishing industry thought leadership through involvement in working groups and collaborative initiatives, and supporting the firm's proxy voting activities. This position will also support integration and firmwide sustainability-related activities as appropriate.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Engagements
Create, implement, and manage topic-specific engagement programs
Experience in climate-related engagements preferred, including evaluating company climate-related disclosures for credibility and completeness
Join, create, and lead investor working groups and collaborative engagements
Develop, file, and defend shareholder proposals
Present engagement-related reports and updates
Strategy
Support annual and long-term strategy planning
Lead and execute initiatives under the firm's Climate Action Plan and other firmwide commitments
Proxy Voting
Support annual review of proxy voting policies
Vote proxies
Public Speaking, Client Servicing, and ESG Marketing
Participate in speaking opportunities at conferences and industry events
Provide client servicing support to Sales & Marketing on engagement programs and topics
Support Sales & Marketing on engagement-related content creation
Other
Manage Sustainability & Stewardship internship program as needed
Provide guidance on processes and policies related to sustainability-related investment, including screening, stock selection, and stewardship
Lead industry advocacy initiatives, such as comment letters to the SEC on investor-relevant issues
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge
Minimum five (5) years of ESG investing, corporate sustainability, and/or engagement experience
Excellent research, analytical, written and communication skills
Strong interest in and knowledge of sustainability topics and themes
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and key ESG research tools and reporting frameworks
Ability to work with and effectively communicate with a diverse set of stakeholders
Ability to efficiently meet deadlines and work both alone and closely with others
Education:
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a relevant field of study

This position is based in San Francisco with a hybrid model of 2 days/week remote and 3 days/week in-office in San Francisco's Financial District near BART, Muni, ferries and cable cars. Occasional travel is required, and no visa sponsorship is available.
