Net Zero Senior Manager - 12 Month FTC

A leading UK transport and logistics company is seeking an experienced Net Zero Senior Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract to drive their sustainability initiatives and lead their journey towards achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040. This role is critical in developing and implementing strategies, engaging with stakeholders, and overseeing environmental management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive Net Zero strategy and investment roadmap to achieve company-wide net zero emissions by 2040.

• Collaborate with partners to reduce carbon emissions, influence stakeholders to integrate Net Zero strategies into business operations, manage a team and maintain industry relationships.

• Oversee environmental management programs including carbon reduction, air and water quality, waste management, and compliance with ISO 14001 and 50001 standards.

• Manage environmental risks, plan conditions, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the environmental performance meets all legal and policy requirements.

• Provide regular updates on Net Zero strategy progress to senior leadership, manage environmental metrics and data, and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of Net Zero and wider environmental issues

• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and project management capabilities

• Ability to influence and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders

• In-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and government policies
