Why are you here?
There's a couple of reasons that will work well for us both:
You're an experienced operations professional and you're ready for a new opportunity - perhaps somewhere with a clear purpose, or operating in an interesting sector.
You're an organisational wizard with an attention to detail that is second to none. You manage the inner workings of your business to run as efficiently as it possibly can, and your keen eye for improvement allows you to implement changes that make a true difference to the way your team operates.
If you're nodding along, it sounds like you're in the right place. We'll tell you why we're here.
We're experiencing incredible levels of internal growth at Acre and it's happening thick and fast. As you'd expect in those circumstances, we're working hard to ensure that each of our global offices are well equipped to keep up. In our New York office in particular, we have a small but mighty team that's growing fast and we need someone to take charge of their processes to make things run as smoothly as possible.
Does this sound like you? Let's tell you more about it.
Firstly, we're a global recruitment business operating in the sustainability and climate change sectors. I'm sure this explains a little about why we're so busy - everyone is looking to tackle these problems head-on right now, but also need a recruitment partner that's well versed in these markets.
Fortunately, we've been doing this a long time - 18 years to be exact. We're headquartered in London, but opened an office in New York about 3 years ago and in Amsterdam a year after that. At the moment, we're predominantly based from home - so we can be flexible about your location but ideally, you'd be able to get to the office about once per fortnight.
Now if you were to join us as an Operations Manager for our US office, what might the role look like on the day to day?
You'll make sure Acre is a great place to work. You'll;
Coordinate operational projects - for example, ergonomics and office setups
Coordinate internal events, such as celebrations and business forums
Contribute to relevant projects, such as wellbeing strategy, incentives and team engagement
Oversee the onboarding process for new team members - including the preparation of contracts, the coordination of training and technology set-up
You'll provide 'go-to' office support. This includes;
Relationship management with a range of suppliers, including Acre's US office space
General office tidiness and decluttering, decorations/furniture
Supporting with the identification and procurement of technology to help drive the team's success
Updating Acre's policies, procedures and guidance as and when needed
Supporting Acre's finance team, including credit control and new supplier setup
You'll support your colleagues, which includes;
Providing support as and when necessary to team members - scheduling meetings, coordinating diaries, procuring reports, taking minutes, etc.
Managing Acre's internal HR system, including annual leave, internal recruitment and document storage
Supporting Acre's marketing team with the organization of external events
What else might interest you about working at Acre?
You'll be working in a supportive, development-driven environment. This means that we'll work with you to form an 'Alliance' whereby we'll let you know what we hope to get from you in your role, but we'll also ask you what we can do to help you develop and progress your career in return.
When it comes to helping tackle some of the world's greatest social and environmental issues, we're a large team of very passionate individuals. With that, we strive to embody our values of:
Collaboration: We trust each other and we work together because we believe that collectively, we can achieve more.
Innovation: We apply curiosity and creativity to everything we do, learning by asking the right questions to find innovative and forward-thinking solutions for our clients and our business.
Integrity: We hold ourselves to the same high standards we hold society to.
Courage: We embrace the power of vulnerability and transparency. We are brave in our conversations, will challenge directly and are courageous about doing the right thing, not the easy thing.
If this sounds like something you'd enjoy doing, you might like to know what skills we'd ask from you in return:
Initiative & problem solving - The ability to overcome a range of challenges through a pragmatic but innovative approach. You will be highly adaptable and able to re-prioritize quickly.
Detail-oriented - You will need to have a strong attention to detail, working in a small but rapidly growing team in a fast-paced environment.
Leadership & determination - You will have a strong sense of purpose and a strong resolve to overcome obstacles and challenges until the job is done!
Great Communication - You will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Incorporating the use of IT, you'll ensure that communications are efficient and effective.
We'd love to hear from you if you think that this sounds like the right opportunity for you. Please apply directly or contact Ellen Rutherford at Ellen.Rutherford@acre.com.
