Senior Associate / VP Nature-based Solutions Investment Analyst

Acre is delighted to be running a retained search for a Senior Associate / VP Nature-based Solutions Investment Analyst to join a 'pure play' nature-based solutions impact fund with an impressive amount of capital ready to deploy and an innovative source of high-quality pipeline projects to invest in.

The natural capital/NbS impact strategy seeks to accelerate climate action by providing the capital necessary to scale projects with strong environmental and societal co-benefits that are designed in close partnership with local communities. Projects include agroforestry, reforestation, regenerative agriculture, and coastal & marine restoration.

Responsibilities include:

• Oversee and perform financial modelling and risk/return analyses for investments in nature-based solutions projects globally

• Contribute to the origination of high-quality investment deals in NbS projects, targeting agricultural supply chains and adjacent landscapes

• Assessment and analysis of a global pipeline of nature-based solutions and carbon removal projects focused on project integrity, quality, and co-benefits.

• Due diligence on investment deals, including overseeing external advisors, participating in site visits and contributing to high-quality Investment Committee materials

• Contributing to the adaptive management of nature-based solutions projects and value creation impact initiatives during the investment period.

• Contributing to operational and financial improvement projects of portfolio companies

• Review and interpret latest research on scientific carbon removal projects/techniques, particularly nature-based solutions and corporate Net Zero strategies and frameworks

• Market analysis of voluntary and compliance carbon markets.

Experience sought

• 4-8 years' investment experience in forestry-based or agriculture strategies or relevant investment banking experience with sustainability exposure

• Experience with investment due diligence on forestry, agriculture or similar nature-related or real asset investments

• Financial modelling skills in both P&L, cashflow and balance sheet, as well as project finance modelling

• Education focused on agriculture, forestry, biodiversity or climate change. Or alternatively, other involvement in climate action

• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of other languages is beneficial
