The role

A Senior Consultant is a core member of Sancroft's team and carries a balance of responsibilities and opportunities for future growth and development. Your responsibilities will include:

Reports to: Chief executive or Director

Direct reports: Consultant/analyst/senior analyst/other

This focuses on business development, ensuring client services are delivered to the highest standard, providing technical sustainability expertise and facilitating teamwork and personal development of colleagues.

Responsibilities

  1. Client acquisition: Use existing networks and experience, including existing clients, to develop new profitable business opportunities for Sancroft. Create new contacts and expand network for Sancroft; be visibly associated with Sancroft externally at events or initiatives relevant to our work or our clients.

  2. Client service: Take lead responsibility for service relationships with client portfolio, and ensure work is delivered at an outstanding level of quality, within time and budget constraints, mobilising and motivating colleagues in collaboration with their line managers, and overseeing their work. Be responsible for maintaining relationships with clients over time, through various project cycles.

  3. Management and mentoring: Line manage professional development of at least 2 junior colleagues. Regularly share your professional experience to help colleagues learn and grow.

  4. Content expertise: Contribute experience and knowledge to improve Sancroft's expertise and ability to meet the various and increasing needs of our clients. Stay involved with emerging trends, risks and challenges that will enable Sancroft to serve our clients and stay ahead of the competition.

Requirements

  • Significant previous experience in consultancy or a related professional services field

  • Broad knowledge of sustainability issues and trends facing business in a variety of sectors

  • High standards of excellence in service delivery and client satisfaction

  • A proven sales/new business development track record

  • Substantial knowledge of the sustainable business field, including major regulatory/non-regulatory drivers and standards, understanding of key sustainability issues across numerous business sectors, and a passionate curiosity in how business will help bring about a sustainable, prosperous and just future

  • Specific experience in the finance sector and its ESG issues would be additionally desirable

  • Excellent communications skills, project organisation, self-management, strong work ethic and integrity

  • Dedication to ongoing development of colleagues' skills and abilities to deliver on Sancroft's strategy and to assist them in their personal and professional growth
