Position Summary

The Good Economy (TGE) is looking for an individual to join their dynamic and growing impact advisory business as a Senior Consultant.

The Senior Consultant will play a key role in managing and delivering TGE's services for private debt, equity and venture capital clients.

You will play a key role in managing and delivering services for their impact investors, commercial asset management and mission-driven businesses - who are seeking to understand, enhance and communicate their sustainability impacts.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • You will act as a key team member with responsibility for specific client projects, delegating appropriately and communicating effectively to achieve results

  • You will bring knowledge and experience that allows you to act as a trusted and seasoned advisor to their clients in the field of ESG and impact measurement, management and reporting

  • You will work with asset managers and/or enterprises on topics such as net-zero roadmaps, carbon footprinting, Science-Based Targets or climate change risk assessment

  • Lead the delivery of impact measurement and management services, including analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and drafting of impact reports

  • Providing technical and thought leadership in areas such as ESG strategy and frameworks, sustainability standards and disclosure and reporting requirements, both in the UK and the EU

  • Working with portfolio companies to strengthen their responsible business practices and/or manage their sustainability impacts

  • Develop new business by leading bids, writing proposals and pro-actively seeking new client opportunities

  • Manage specific client projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality advisory services

  • Prepare and facilitate workshops for clients

  • Contribute to internal strategy discussions

The ideal candidate will have some of the following knowledge and experience:

  • A track record of supporting impact investors, private equity houses and/or private debt funds to measure and manage their sustainability impacts

  • Knowledge and understanding of ESG and impact investing in the context of the alternative investment asset class

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering client projects

  • An understanding of social or environmental sustainability and measurement

  • A degree or relevant professional qualification in a relevant field such as sustainability/ESG, finance or climate science

  • Proven experience working with asset managers and/or enterprises on topics such as net-zero roadmaps, carbon footprinting, Science-Based Targets or climate change risk assessments

  • Working knowledge of frameworks such as TCFD, and associated reporting and regulatory initiatives such as SFDR and the EU Taxonomy

  • Experience across the transaction lifecycle, integrating ESG into investment decision-making processes, including during screening and diligence

  • Knowledge and interest in sustainable and inclusive development, particularly in the UK

  • You will be a good communicator and able to develop collaborative relationships with clients and stakeholders, especially asset managers and portfolio companies

  • Excellent writing skills and ability to synthesise information and write in a clear and concise manner

  • Well-organised and able to manage multiple tasks with high attention to detail
