Starbucks is the premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffee in the world. Starbucks has an exceptionally complex supply chain: from coffee, milk, and sugar to paper, plastics, and pastries- and everything in between!

With ambitious sustainability and supply chain programmes underway and goals in sight, they are now seeking to hire a values-driven leader to implement these goals.

In this newly created role, reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, you will be accountable for managing a new internal network and workstreams across Starbucks EMEA, focusing on both suppliers and licensees.

You will also be:

  • An internal subject matter expert on topics including product compliance, ethical standards, human rights, and supply chain analysis, taking the organisation above and beyond full supply chain compliance status.

  • Leading as both a global and regional supply chain expert, using your knowledge to verify exposure to forest-risk commodities, putting in place thorough actions where needed.

  • Collaborating with other teams across themes, including sustainable packaging to ensure waste and circularity workstreams, encouraging the phase-out of singular-use plastic, and creating innovative solutions wherever you can, with the support of your team.

  • Providing ideas, using emerging technologies and your knowledge to bring solutions to Starbucks's supply chain.

  • With many critical elements to consider and on an EMEA-wide scale, you will be playing a transformative role for the business and pushing it forward to excellence throughout the entire Starbucks value chain. This role will suit you if you are ambitious, impact-driven, and thrive in a culture-rich environment.

You will also benefit from having the following:

  • Relevant experience in senior project management in matrixed, cross-functional teams with exposure to corporate sustainability environmental policy and understanding how it interconnects with wider business models.

  • Demonstrable expertise in how to influence stakeholders both internally and externally on ESG and the importance of supply chain excellence and traceability.

  • An adaptable and solutions-oriented outlook. You will be covering varying regions, commitments, and challenges and may have to tailor your approach depending on the tasks at hand.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join one of the world's most well-known businesses at the heart of their operations to transition them to a more sustainable future. Apply today, or if you have any questions, please contact Tom Townsend at tom.townsend@acre.com.
