Are you a Sustainability professional interested in working for a global membership body in the mining and metals sector?

Our client aims to bring companies in this remit together, creating and driving leadership and innovation for sustainable development. As a Senior Programme Officer, you ideally will be an experienced environmental professional with a focus on skills in ecology, biodiversity or environmental management to work their nature programme.

This is a 1-year fixed-term contract, with the ability to work remotely with occasional travel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing workshops for stakeholders regarding an industry-wide commitment to a nature positive future

  • Gathering analysis of spatial data to identify opportunities for collective action

  • Carrying out research to scope potential actional pilots on nature in key priority areas

  • Undertaking a gap analysis of members' current nature performance against future performance requirements

  • Supporting the development of a capacity-building programme to bridge key gaps identified

  • Creating peer-to-peer exchange to support members on the TNFD beta framework and provide feedback to strengthen framework in the industry

  • Applying expertise to strengthen broader environmental and sustainable development agenda for the company

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • 5+ years' relevant experience in nature or environmental management-related roles

  • Deep understanding of nature positive agenda, policy and disclosure environment

  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and project management skills

  • Expert in research, analysis and science communication skills

  • Experience engaging business on contribution to global goals, e.g. on climate change, Sustainable Development Goals, nature positive
