Acre has partnered with a publicly traded multi-billion-dollar startup that has piloted a first-of-a-kind energy production technology offering emission reductions greater than 90% of comparable technologies. Once fully commercialized, their technology will grant tens of millions of people across the world access to clean, reliable and low-cost energy.
Their Chief Innovation Officer is looking for a Senior/Principal New Process Development Engineer who will be wholly responsible for evaluating new technologies and processes to expand their customer offerings through implementing adjacent processes in their current platform. You'd be evaluating new ways to create value through the development of adjacent processes to our client's core technology. This will entail extensive research, strategic cost and market modelling, and a breadth of knowledge about the latest gas processing technologies. Given you'd be reporting directly to the CIO, the level of impact you'd have on technology roadmap development is very high, and you'd have widespread influence on NPD programs and strategic technical direction.
Please note this position requires the candidate to be located in or open to relocating to Durham, NC.
You'd bring forward:
An M.S. or PhD in Chemical, Mechanical or similar with 5-10+ years' R&D experience in industrial gas processing or specialty chemicals industries.
Experience with steam methane reforming, hydrogen, syngas or ammonia is highly desired.
Technical expertise in the fields of process modelling, thermodynamics, process simulation (Aspen software expertise required) and process optimization.
Experience developing PFDs, mass balances, and techno-economic analysis
Experience conducting life cycle analysis (LCA) of new processes
If you want to join a high-growth business that sits at the frontier of energy innovation, you should apply for this role. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have a large impact on globally impactful technology development, and even if you feel like you may not be the best fit for whatever reasons, we still encourage you to apply. We have many positions open with this client, and they are building out numerous engineering teams as we speak.
