A well-known national housebuilding organisation has a new and exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Manager to join their team and aid them in their vision of building quality and long-lasting homes and communities. You will be required to report effectively on performance and strategy in specific to driving sustainable procurement, such as resource management and design and technology pilot projects.

This is an interim contract and can be based in various locations across the United Kingdom including Northwest, Midlands and South East. This position also offers flexible working.

You will use your experience in numerous areas across sustainability including waste, water, energy/carbon, responsible materials procurement, sustainable building design and community engagement.

Daily rate: £450 - £550

Length: 12 months

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Contributing to the development of the corporate sustainability strategy

  • Reporting systems including energy usage, carbon emissions and socio-economic value

  • Providing support in the design and development of research and post occupancy evaluation programme

  • Supporting internal and external communications including client liaison, and upskilling colleagues

  • Reporting on company performance in industry and non-industry ESG sustainability benchmarks

  • Supporting stakeholder research to determine key materiality issues and incorporate the findings in the overall strategy

  • Representing the company at relevant forums and throw presentations to industry organisations

  • Ensuring familiarity with the organisation's Health, Safety and Environmental policies

Person Specification:

  • Depth of experience in sustainability/ environmental disciplinaries

  • A sustainability background within a relevant industry, such as housebuilding/construction, property, utilities, facilities management or similar

  • Ideally experience within waste, water, energy/carbon, responsible materials procurement, sustainable building design and community engagement

  • Strong analytical, rigorous approach to data, league tables and KPI's

  • Superior organisational skills and ability to deal with multiple projects at the same time

  • A full driving licence is required
