Acre is currently partnered with a global reforestation and conservation company looking to onboard a skilled Technical Director to lead their technical team.
This organization has been at the forefront of forestry, ecology, and sustainable innovation for more than 40 years and has developed the largest reforestation project in US history! They are on a mission to create a net-zero future by driving the restoration of ecosystems while assisting corporations and financial institutions mitigate their environmental impact.
Reporting directly to the senior management team, this candidate will be running their own team and working cross-functionally across different departments within the company.
Responsibilities
Support technical team to ensure projects comply with different GHG program certification schemes.
Support projects at different stages, including feasibility, listing, registration, and issuance process.
Support technical writing of documents such as feasibility, project design and monitoring reports.
Provide guidance to team members to implement carbon accounting methodologies.
Support the team to write proposals for projects.
Requirements
A relevant university degree
At least 3-5 years working in carbon markets.
Carbon project development experience and/or clear understanding of GHG programs and their certification process (such as Verra, CAR, GS)
Familiarity with Project Documentation and technical writing capacity
Experience working on Nature-Based Solutions
Strong leadership capabilities and capacity to manage the project development process from start to finish.
