Acre has partnered with John Swire & Sons Ltd., a multi-national conglomerate covering a diverse range of sectors from international shipping, agribusinesses and food chain to energy transition and new fuels, to help recruit a Sustainability Data Manager.

This role will support the sustainable development team with data collection and analysis across the subsidiaries to support the transition to science-based targets.

The Sustainability Data Manager will be responsible for centralising all sustainability reporting and disclosures across the group; using data to drive action; and ensuring readiness for increased transparency in reporting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Confidently lead the execution of ESG data collection and analysis across the group into all operating companies, acting as the overall system leader and expert.

  • Work closely with the Group Sustainable Business Manager when developing plans for operating company engagement and transformation - using expert data analysis to uncover opportunities for improvement and acceleration.

  • Improve data accuracy, covering various levels of sustainable data maturity and complexity.

  • Take a lead on preparing external data disclosures in line with regulations and trends.

  • Use data to support decision making across the business, and act as an advocate for process improvement through data transparency.

Key Experience:

  • Expertise in environmental sustainability and relevant technical skills such as greenhouse gas accounting, carbon accounting, and data collection.

  • Technical experience with data and programming systems.

  • Experience with managing internal and external stakeholders.

  • Understanding of multiple sectors (with experience in industrial sectors an advantage) and their sustainability issues and priorities.

  • Ability to use data to draw insights and drive decision making at board level.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across international settings.

  • Enthusiasm, purpose-driven individual, self-starter with significant motivation to make a positive change.
