The case for

The Social Board

(and how to build one)

  • "There’s no doubt that Acre are the best when it comes to recruiting sustainability professionals. This is partly down to the high-calibre of candidates they find - but also because they take the time to understand the role, the requirements, and the business to find the perfect match."

    Head of Corporate Responsibility, BSkyB

  • "When it came to recruit a Sustainable Development Manager, we looked for an organisation that specialised in this discipline and could work to a high standard. Acre did not disappoint - and the level of service provided was first class. Despite a very focused and defined job role, they were efficient in providing a shortlist of qualified candidates from which we were able to select an applicant of quality."

    Head of HR, Eurotunnel

  • "We have worked with Acre on a number of assignments across energy and sustainability and have been impressed with their level of service and the calibre of their candidates. Acre’s consultants have demonstrated an in-depth understanding, their professionalism makes them our first choice partner."

    Recruitment Manager, Tesco

  • "As trawlermen the world over will attest, you're going to get a better catch if someone knows where the fish are to be found. When it comes to recruitment, Acre appear to know not just where the fish are, but the specific type of fish you are searching for in particular. We were delighted with the recruitment process and the high-calibre candidates it produced. Great service as well."

Head of Community and Campaigns, The Co-operative

  • "Thank you Acre for your initiative and innovation. This is my second placement with Acre and I'm getting more and more impressed with your work."

    Ethical Compliance Manager, Debenhams

  • "Acre worked very effectively on the recruitment of sustainability and environment professionals for European and UK operations. Acre got a good grasp of our needs, and played an important role in the selection and appointment of a number of key individuals in to our organisation."

    Senior Director, McDonald's

  • "Acre has risen rapidly to become the most specialised CR recruiter in the UK. I have always been impressed with the quality of candidates sent to me and I would have no hesitation to recommend Acre to anyone looking to find new people in the sustainability field."

Head of European Sustainability Affairs, Samsung

  • "Frameworks is the kind of innovative and bold move we have come to expect from Acre. This initiative leads the way in driving a much needed change in the Health and Safety profession and confirms Acre’s place as market leader. The feedback from assessing the entire Lend Lease Health and Safety team has allowed us to refocus, engage, and develop our people to drive our organisational goal of creating an incident and injury free workplace. Utilising this tool as part of their recruitment offering, Acre support us in making informed hiring decisions and seamlessly transition new staff from recruitment into development"

Martin Coyd, Director of Environment, Health & Safety, Europe - Lend Lease

  • "The whole team found the process very useful and many of the ‘areas of improvement’ identified in the report are now making their way in to our appraisal process. The comparison against the different groups i.e. leadership and fundamentals was particularly useful in helping the team progress to the next role. I personally have found this to be really useful, firstly in identifying skills matrixes across the team but secondly comparing our team to the industry norm groups. We think we are a high performing team but comparing it to industry has helped confirm where we can improve"

Simon Walker , Director of Environment, Health & Safety - Mount Anvil

  • "We had been looking to fill a difficult role for 2 years and had been through several rounds of interviewing without success. With their networking and specialist knowledge of the area, Acre were able to find a number of talented candidates which led to a successful appointment."

    Global Technical Manager, Syngenta
